Premier League - Paper Round: Inter target Capello

Internazionale face a tough job filling the gap left by the departure of Jose Mourinho - but they believe England coach Fabio Capello can do it.
Most of this morning's back pages carry the story in one guise or another, with the Daily Mirror's effort winning the prize: "England need a new coach" is the headline over a picture of England's team bus having broken down by the side of an Austrian motorway. The tagline at the bottom makes it clear: "Luckily it's only the team bus unless Inter get their £11m way."

The Sun runs quotes from Capello rubbishing the rumours of a move, despite the salary of £9-11 million a year being offered. "I have a contract with the FA and the only way it will finish is if they sack me," the Italian said. "I see my name linked with a lot of jobs in Italy and Spain but I'm happy here."

The Mirror squeezes two other good stories on to its back page: first up, Cardiff City are poised to make a move for Manchester City forward Craig Bellamy. The Welshman is valued at £7m and earns £4m a year - too much for even a well-funded Championship club to swallow, but Cardiff are hoping to figure out some sort of deal.

Second, Paul Ince is set for a high-profile move to take the manager's job at Portsmouth. Steve Cotterill and Brendan Rodgers had been the favourites, but apparently club administrator Andrew Andronikou wants the former England and Manchester United star. Is it just us, by the way, or is Andronikou starting to enjoy his temporary switch from accountant to de facto football club chairman a little bit too much?

It's a confusing time in the Cesc Fabregas transfer saga. The Arsenal skipper told yesterday how his frank discussion about his future with manager Arsene Wenger was "the greatest conversation of my life", with the Daily Express claiming that the Gunners will agree a no-fuss £40m move to Barcelona to end the war of words.

Yet the Daily Mirror's exclusive story claims that Barca made an official approach yesterday - only to be told that Fabregas is "not for sale at any price (and) don't bother contacting us again".

Joe Cole's refusal to sign a new deal at Chelsea has been hung up over his £100,000 wage demands - but it seems he may not get the money he wants even after a free transfer with his contract about to run out. The Daily Star reports that Tottenham want Cole to move across London, but won't pay more than £70,000 a week - the same as the club's top earner Ledley King.

Liverpool and Tottenham are fighting it out for the signature of 21-year-old Croatian goalkeeper Marijan Antolovic, The Sun claims this morning. The young keeper went 551 minutes without conceding for his side Cibalia this season.

West Ham have had a £5m bid for Everton striker Yakubu rejected - with David Moyes reportedly wanting nearer double that sum, according to the Daily Mail.

Everton need that cash because they are still keen on a £10m move for 23-year-old Marseille winger Hatem Ben Arfa, according to The Sun, despite being frustrated while trying to secure his services in January.

And finally, The Sun leads its back page with news that Ashley Cole's divorce could push him into a move from Chelsea to Real Madrid, as reported in Paper Round yesterday morning. See? We got you the same story 24 hours earlier - and saved you 20p into the bargain!
